DCS was contracted by the University of Georgia to perform an Aamnesty program organized by the University Public Safety Office. The Aamnesty program was instituted to dispose of all unknown, orphan, legacy or questionable chemicals stored in any of the university's 300+ research laboratories spread throughout the campus. DCS's crews were on site for almost six weeks, and collected in excess of 22,000 unknown chemicals contained in drums, bottles, boxes, jars and cylinders. This project was completed in a safe, timely manner, resulting in the shipment off site of more than 225 lab pack drums and 53 cylinders. DCS completed the project on budget, which was 60% lower than the nearest competitor.

DCS was contracted to provide site closure, facility decommissioning and waste disposal for an abandoned ending machine manufacturing facility. Over the course of two years, our field crew dismantled and removed plating operations, painting lines and water treatment equipment in this 250,000 square foot facility. Additional services included collection, packaging and disposal of more than 300 drums of hazardous and industrial waste.

DCS was contracted by a specialty metals manufacturer to properly remediate in excess of 20,000 pounds of pyrophoric metal powders contained in 100 damaged drums. DCS devised a safe handling system to open each container and repackage the unstable material for shipment off site. This 3 week project resulted in over 2,000 containers of waste that were incinerated without incident.

DCS was contracted by a large public university to provide comprehensive radioactive materials management. These specialty services included a site investigation and identification of contaminated materials.
  • Decontamination of affected areas.
  • License modification and completion of Nuclear Regulatory      Commission (NRC) paperwork.
  • Stabilization and disposal of plutonium sources.
